HTC confirms the Desire 8
HTC has confirmed that it will unveil the Desire 8 on February 24th in Beijing.

In a posting on its official Weibo page, the Taiwanese company said that it will show off its mid-range Desire 8 smartphone for the first time next week.
Details of the smartphone leaked last week.
It had been thought that the company would use Mobile World Congress to launch the smartphone – possibly alongside the HTC M8. However, the Weibo post suggests that the Desire 8 will instead make its debut in China.
The company refused to provide any details about the phone beyond confirming its name and that it will debut next week.

Previous rumours have suggested that the phone will feature a 5.5-inch screen with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, a 13 megapixel rear facing camera and a five megapixel front facing camera.
It is also said to be coming with 8GB of storage, front-facing speakers – like the HTC One – and be available in a range of colours. It is also expected to run Android KitKat.
The phone is said to be being launched in China, Europe, Africa, the US and Asia. There s no word on whether the phone will make it to the rest of the Americas and Australia.

HTC One X Factory Reset: Fix Bugs and Problem Issues

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
If you have a  HTC One X at hand and notice some bugs and issues regarding your device and wanted to fix it accordingly the only solution for now is by doing a factory reset. This is only a temporary option just for now until your device will get a new OTA firmware updates. I hope for those who plans on buying the the HTC One X, please don't get disappointed, this is only some minor glitches from the software and also happens on some other Android devices. As I already mentioned, this can be easily fix by another software update sooner, but until there is no update yet, this is the simplest solution.

Here's a known bugs and issues that have reported by HTC One X users that have been brought together   from XDA-Developer forum. Thank's to H-Cim for starting the thread and all the HTC One X users who participated and came up with some known bugs and issues altogether.

Bugs
  • Screen stops turning orientation, even in settings menu G-sensor no longer moves. - POSSIBLE FIX : Go to taskmanager and kill all tasks - All credit and thanks go to casca
  • Calendar widget crashes if more then 20 appointments - TIP : Just remove the widget since it will keep crashing until you remove it...
  • Other HTC widgets seem to be causing lag too.
  • GPU Rendering can't be forced.
  • Live wallpaper stops on switching between screens
  • GPS issues - Possible fix : Download gps status on the market and clear the a-gps data - if this works all credit and thanks go to matmar
  • Screen starts "jumping"
  • When browsing/camera/other Sense 4.0 related tasks -> It looks like there is "noise" on the screen. Like this
  • SIM card stops working/restarts/no connection
  • The three dot menu button appears in some ICS native apps, like the YouTube app for example. - Fix for this in Dev section (requires unlock)
  • Tegra 3 games (and some others) lag, this is probably connect to some video driver bug. (Hardware is fast enouf to play it without lag)
  • Screen reactivating after using the lock-button (only 1 click ofc)
  • When opening the Clock app (just by pressing the clock on your homescreen), and moving to the Timer-tab (the one on the far right) it always adds one hour, one minute and one second to whatever time you set it to.
Issues
  • Lag in Multi-Tasking window and other elements - TIP : Go to Dev Settings - disable animations. This improved the speed a lot for me (even thou most animations keep on running, only the excessive ones get turned off) [This lag is clearly a software issue, other launchers are lag-free; should be fixed soon]
  • A lot of people are reporting signal problems. (No clue what's causing it)
  • Yellow spots on the screen
Here's how to Factory Reset the HTC One X.

If you’re passing HTC One X on to someone else or HTC One X has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset).

Warning: Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you’ve downloaded and installed. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset from settings

   1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap .
   2. Tap Storage > Factory data reset.
   3. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC One X on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One X.

   1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
   2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
   3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

If the problem still persist after performing hard reset, you might need to wait the new OTA software update from HTC. A software update fro HTC devs will only fix all known bugs and issues mentioned above for your HTC One X.

HTC One successor to arrive early next year

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 12 November 2013 0 komentar

HTC could launch the successor to its award winning HTC One smartphone in the US in early 2014.

Tweets from @evleaks suggests that HTC will launch the follow up to the HTC One will be available in the next few months. The tweets also suggest that the device will be available across all four US networks.
The device is currently codenamed M8. According to rumours, the phone is said to have a 5-inch or 5.2-inch display with 3GB RAM. It is also likely to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

Little else is known about the phones specifications at the moment.
The tweets come days after images of what is claimed to be the M8 were unearthed. The device looks like the HTC One, except for the cutout on the rear.
It is likely the cut out will be used for a fingerprint reader similar to the one found on the HTC One Max.

The HTC One cleaned up at this year’s T3 Gadget Awards. The phone won Best Design, Best Phone and Best Gadget of the Year.

HTC One 2 M8 release date, rumours, specs and more

 HTC One Max review

The HTC One has become a smash hit winning numerous awards and proving that the company can go toe to toe with the Galaxy S5 and Apple's iPhone 5s

The HTC One 2 or the HTC M8 (if we're going by the codename) is set to be the next flagship smartphone from HTC replacing the award-winning HTC One.
The upcoming feature smartphone isn't set to be launched until next year and will be looking to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the future Apple iPhone 6.
Whilst little is known about HTC's next flagship smartphone there are rumours that can help us create a picture of what HTC will be looking to launch when it takes on the smartphone world next year.
With the company already confirming earlier in the year that it would be focusing on reducing its range whilst building up its quality it goes without saying that the One 2 will be the pinnacle of what the company can achieve.
Read on to see the latest rumours, leaks and our own opinion on what we think HTC will be including with the next-generation HTC One 2.

HTC One 2 will have a 2014 release date

It goes without saying that this will be a HTC One with a 2014 release date. For starters it's in keeping with the annual update schedule that most of the leading smartphone manufacturers keep to.
Secondly HTC has only just launched the HTC One max which has been built using the same design language as the original HTC One which means that if the company is looking at a serious design change then it'll give the original handsets time to sell first.
That said MWC is just on the other side of Christmas and it has become the launching point for many of the big smartphone and tablet launches including the Sony Xperia Z tablet as well as the Huawei Ascend P2.
Lest we also forget that MWC 2012 saw the unveiling of the uber-powerful HTC One X so all in all keep MWC in the calendar.

HTC One 2 will launch with Sense 6.0

So far this is the first bit of solid proof we've had that HTC is working on the next version of the HTC One. According to evleaks the company is working with a new flagship smartphone codenamed the HTC M8 (the HTC One was the 'M7') and that it would launch sporting a brand-new version of Sense, HTC's skinned UI.
With HTC confirming that it would be bringing Android 4.4 KitKat to its current range of HTC One smartphones it seems logical to assume that HTC Sense 6.0 will in fact be running on the next version of Android.
There's no word on how the UI would look but unless HTC is planning a huge design overhaul expect a more advanced and easier to use version of the current Sense which means improved BlinkFeed along with integration of Android's new features.
This would mean you'll get the same improved Caller ID functionality which uses the Google Maps Business listings to find contact information if your phone doesn't recognise the number.

HTC One 2 specs

This is something that we can almost certainly tick off from the start, specs wise there's no word on actual hardware but considering how much noise HTC has made about the UltraPixel camera on its current generation it would be a serious move by the company to not include its famed UltraPixel sensor.
One piece of hardware that we'd really like to see implemented on the next HTC One 2 is a fingerprint scanner. Whilst Apple nailed the technology with its Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 5s we were far less impressed with HTC's implementation of the tech in the HTC One max.
Hopefully HTC won't ditch the idea as the HTC One max offered a lot of features with its fingerprint scanner that the iPhone didn't, instead they need to perfect the hardware itself and then integrate it into the smartphone better in a way that feels far more natural.

Rumors Of HTC Smart Watch With Camera

Posted by Unknown Jumat, 01 November 2013 0 komentar

Smart watches have been extremely popular with developers lately it seems. According to a Bloomberg report, there is now another entrant for the race towards producing the best wrist wearable technology with a HTC smart watch.

Readers of the Bloomberg article were led to believe that somebody with inside knowledge of HTC’s business had said that HTC were definitely working on a smart watch and planned to release it during the second half of 2014. Pricing, marketing and exact release dates are unknown, but it’s thought that the HTC smart watch will feature GOOG Android operating system and have a camera.

Rumors Of HTC Smart Watch With Camera

Coincidentally (or not) the rumor came to light on the back of an article in the Financial Times where the CEO of HTC, Peter Chou was quoted as saying that the company thought of wearable technology as “a critical segment for us”. The president of HTC believes that there is a huge potential for growth in the technology of products such as smart watches and many other items. He is obviously not alone in the opinion that wearable technology will take off during the next few years. Several other tech giants have been seen or at least rumored to be dipping their toes into the wearable technology market:
One thing is for sure, HTC definitely need something to inject some interest and revenue into their business. Although the company was once the smartphone favorites in the US, it has seen a slump in the share prices of 54 percent and actually suffered its first ever quarterly loss. HTC are working to combat the problem with redesigns of the favored HTC One handset along with new marketing techniques involving high profile celebrities like Robert Downie Jr. But it looks like the Taiwanese company could be branching out into the seemingly young but fast-growing wearable technology market as a way to put their company back in the game.

HTC to unveil phablet on October 15th

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 01 Oktober 2013 0 komentar

HTC will reportedly announce its first phablet, the HTC One Max on October 15th.
According to sources speaking to Pocket-Lint, the Taiwanese company will be unveiled on that date. It won’t hit retailers’ shelves until later in the month though.

The report says that the HTC One Max will come with a 5.9-inch display, but will otherwise be a HTC One. If correct, that means the One Max will be powered by a Snapdragon 600 processor.
The only difference other than the screen is said to be the addition of a microSD slot.

HTC’s One Max is expected to come with Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5. That means it will come with features including Zoe capture from the Ultrapixel camera and access to the BlinkFeed service.
Interestingly, the phone could be the first Android device to come with a fingerprint scanner following the announcement of the iPhone 5s earlier this month.
Google is also expected to launch the world’s first Android KitKat smartphone, the Google Nexus 5 at an event the day before (October 14th).
